From its beginning in 2002 to 2014, the company grew 11-fold and was selected by Inc. Magazine as one of the Fastest Growing Private Companies in the nation, as well as a “Top Latino-Run”, “Top Women-Owned” and “Top Food and Beverage” Company.
Over the years, El Latino focused on building its own distribution capabilities, automating processes and streamlining distribution routes. In addition to putting in place strict quality controls, our team worked tirelessly to make sure our customers can always find our products easily and satisfy their desire to share special moments with friends and family. We added new products and expanded the breadth of our distribution, the depth of our inventory, the precision of our deliveries, our in-store presence and our fill rates.
In June 2017, Amazon announced it was partnering with El Latino as it launched its’ PrimeNow services in Miami. Amazon Prime members now have the convenience of ordering our products on line on the spur of the moment and enjoying them less than two hours later with no delivery charges.
This is Maria Elena Ibañez’s third successful startup.
Today, El Latino’s product line includes over 120 refrigerated and frozen items and continues growing. Our products are currently distributed in over 2,000 stores including all the major chains and Hispanic independent supermarkets, and are also available online through Amazon PrimeNow and AmazonFresh
